I was so happy with this workshop. Thank you so much, Alex, for sharing your knowledge with us. I have learned a lot and got motivated to go out there and shoot more. I don’t think you need to be a pro or an amateur to view this workshop. It really works for any photographer. Five stars rating for sure! @trendypeas www.trendypeas.com
This was an incredible workshop, it has made me reevaluate everything I thought I knew and really helped me to find focus and direction. There are a lot of technical gems in here but for me it was the almost philosophical side of the workshop that truly touched me. Thank you so much Alex and team for this it has made a huge difference to me.

Alex deserves some honor for sharing all this knowledge of his with us. I think this workshop has something to offer every photographer either you are a amateur or a pro. Something i really like about this workshop is that Alex focuses on how every individual person can develop their own way of doing things like shooting & edit, planing trips and traveling, building a portfolio and getting clients etc... He doesn't just tell how he did all of this himself, he also gives you specific tasks you can start doing today. My advice is that if you are considering whether or not you want to buy this online workshop, do it! its a one time investment of 300$ that gives you lifetime access to the workshop. I think you easily can earn those 300$ back by doing as Alex teaches you anyways, so if you not sure if you want to buy the workshop i would advice you to go for it, i dont think you will regret it.
I’d highly reccomend purchasing this workshop. I’ve been finding inspiration from Alex’s images for as long as I can remember so neatless to say I had high expectations, and it didn’t disappoint. Within the first module I felt as I’ve gotten my money’s worth. Do yourself a favor and make this investment into yourself and career, you won’t regret it!
Alex shares invaluable knowledge throughout this online workshop. Within each module there is useful information and advice, and it doesn’t matter if you’re a landscape photographer, wedding or sports photographer, there is something for everyone to take away and apply to their personal and professional development. It covers everything from practical side of photography, shooting and editing, right through to the often overlooked and underestimated business side of freelancing. I’ve completed the workshop feeling motivated and inspired to take action towards my personal goals, and have new ways to approach my photography after hearing and taking on board this valuable knowledge shared by Alex. Whether you’re starting out or already an established artist, this workshop has something for everyone! It is a worthy investment and something I will be coming back to reference throughout my career!
Alex Strohl is not only an image curator, he is someone who lives the life and continues to improve upon every image he delivers. To be able to take a look into his life, his genius and learn from his years of experience is not only a privilege - it is a gift. Through all the photography workshops I have looked into, Alex's was the only one I was willing to pull the trigger on. He gives so much information in all the modules it becomes daunting to digest on first visit. I find myself re-visiting every chapter in order to gather the importance and value he delivers. My photography was in a limbo until I went through this course and I am so incredibly thankful for this wealth of information. Alex, you have transformed my photography and really helped me develop a style that I hope will become "timeless."
When we pre-ordered Alex's workshop, we knew we were about to learn a lot about photography and espcially business. As beginners in the pro wolrd of photography, everyday was a question mark. Today, we can see clearly the path in front of us. There is still a lot of work to do, of course, but he has enlightened the way. Watching his workshop from the couch and feeling how much we want to go outside, shoot, contact new clients, and just act, is the best feeling. As beginners, the most difficult part is the first step. How to start ? What do we have to do to get our first client ? How to improve our work ? So many overwhelming questions ! Not only he tought us how to go over these questions, but he also gave us the will to do it. Photography is no wonderland but evereything is possible with work and dedication. He may not be the best speaker in the world, but he speaks true to us. The way he explains things is very clear, sincere and simple, and this is why we really appreciated watching his workshop. He talks about a lot of small things that actually make the difference. How attention to details is key. How being a good human makes you a good entrepreneur and someone any brands would enjoy working with. Obvious ? Not to everyone. That's why his approach is unique and very interesting. Thank you, Alex, for the huge amount of great advices. Hopefully, our path will cross one day to thank you in person. @freelensers https://www.freelensers.com

As a beginner photograph, those videos are an amazing source of learning and inspiration. Alex provides amazing tips and tricks and helps you through a journey that can bring you to launch your own business. He is also capable of distilling all of that with a serious touch of humour that is more than welcome in the process. He pushes towards your best shots through detailed videos, a condensed of fantastic learnings. That is bringing me towards a better self in term of shooting and editing and allows me to quickly learn where it would have taken months on my own. It allowed me also to find the courage to ping folks I wouldn't have pinged to learn from them too. I am really glad I got this workshop as an early gift for my birthday. Thank you Alex for producing this and helping us become better folks, not just photographers. @yann_ck https://vadrouilles.co
First of all I am really happy that I purchased this workshop. It gave me so much useful information. The workshop is broad and touches all the aspects of photography. On the other hand it gives you a lot of detailed information that other workshops or online courses lack. Like many others I loved the ‘in the field chapters’. Next to those chapters I liked the chapters where Alex did post adjustments, not only because of the photoshop skills, but also for the way Alex looks at the image, the composition, the colors, etc. Alex is a good storyteller and you can see that in this workshop. His explanation of things is useful, clear and inspiring. IG @roderickvanklink

If learned so much and it is truly an amazing workshop for all level of photographers bc Alex shows us why we all should be shooting. For fun and to express ourselves. Each module is easy to work with and the chapters make it easy to come back to it the next day. I love that it is authentic and it is just a dude showing us his methods, nothing is fake or seems just for show. Thank you Alex for such an awesome workshop IG: toribabywolf
As a self fought photographer there were many gaps in my work and way too many question every time I saw pictures of some of my favorite artists. Alex completely answered questions that I would always ask myself and made me not only want to step up my game but made me more confident of what I wanted to do! Looking how he works and his in-studio workflow made me realize a lot of small mistakes I was doing that were slowing me down and got me running. @linaresldg
I just started shooting photos, and this workshop have changed everything for me. After watching this workshop i really got the inspiration to go shoot everything. It really have change my point of view, before i didn´t see all the opportunities around me., but most of all i didn´t know I was able to make my shitty photos shine whit a few adjustments This workshop have also changed my outdoor life, Alex really made me realize that whit just a few adjustments to my packing , i have been able to have just a little luxury when i go hiking/camping You really have motivated me THANK YOU ALEX
I went a lot of photography workshops and it was all about apertures, shutter speeds and basic composition rules. But in this amazing workshop, Alex is teaching and trying to tell how to share our story. Since i watch this workshop all of my friends, my family and others recognize my images when they see somewhere and they tell me how much i develop my skills. Highly recommended! @barkingurkan

Loved his workshop. I learned some new techniques and he inspired to work harder to and do waht I always wanted to do: create an adventure blog and inspire others to have fun, explore, and find peace through nature and the outdoors! I really believe in the therapeutic power of nature and want others to find appreciation in the simple things in life. Check me out on instagram.com/peter3adventures
At 36 I left the corporate grind to work professionally as a photographer and director. I needed to up-skill and understand what I need to know. In the journey of speaking to many accomplished and experienced pro's it was easy to become over-whelmed. I was delighted to hear of Alex's courses. I'd been following his work for a few years and in fact, the impetus to buy came from getting a dream job to shoot for 11 days in Tasmania. It was going to be a huge undertaking that I was excited about, yet very scared that I'd screw it up ! .. I binged on Alex's course and learnt more than I was ever expecting. I'm not hugely technically driven, and in prior discussions with pro's about gear or technique I felt it would take forever (or never) to get there. Alex's mindset however is refreshingly forward thinking, and although there is always more to understand and learn, he comes to his work with a simplicity that empowers you and excites you to - well, just be you .. There are great tips around being well-prepared, but essentially to focus on the things that you enjoy about your work, tom communicate them well and slowly build your style and stoke for your work over time. The videos aren't too in-depth if the subject doesn't require it .. conversely he goes very deep, giving appropriate subjects the time and attention they require. This all helps to deliver a consistent narrative, yet variable flow that makes it easy to digest and enjoy. I'll be back again and again @olliekhe
This was my first workshop and I can say that I'm absolutely satisfied with this experience ! Alex's workshop is very complete, it is going through all the aspects of his work and this is refreshing. Most of the time, we can access only a certain type of information on what is really being a photographer. In this workshop, everything is explained, absolutely everything and I'm sure it can suit to everyone, from the very beginner to the well installed pro photographer. Because, more than a step by step of how to do things, Alex is sharing with us his personal experience. It can be very different from a photographer to another and he is well aware of that. That adds depth to the workshop, it's enlightening. I may not do the same type of photography than Alex but whatever is your style, it gaves solutions to improve your work. I am not a pro photographer but I always wondered if it was possible to be one and how to proceed. This workshop gave me confidence to pursue my goal. What also amaze me is that this workshop evolves with time, Alex is adding content here and there. It's really cool to know that maybe some new stuff will come. For exemple I thought that it could require more field and shoot lessons and Alex added some. If you have the chance to add more of it, it will aways be appreciated ! Merci Alex pour ce workshop et pour ton travail photo ! @valentin_astier
Alex’s workshop is for everyone, from beginners all the way to professionals. Everyone will learn something and take something away from it. I enjoyed every minute of it and the time and effort you can see thats gone into this is incredible. I couldnt reccommend the workshop enough! @bradwilletts / @lifeandland
I've been inspired by Alex's work for years and when he announce he was releasing a workshop I jumped on the pre order. The workshop looks at his approach, what he as learned, what he's found to work best and how you can apply it to your own photography. It's not a how do I use my camera instructional video, you just have to learn that and know it, but rather how to work a narrative and tell a story to create more meaningful images that will stand the test of time. Tons of valuable information on the post production and the business side of photography, (which ends up being more than half of photography.) Best part is Alex continues to expand upon the workshop and add additional modules to it, adding to your investment and allowing you to learn even more. Underwater module next? 10/10 - Thanks Alex for putting this together. @graeme_o
It's easy to be in awe of other people on Instagram for a glamor lifestyle. Alex pulls back the curtain a bit to show the tough bits and the fun of photography with very practical advice and a relatable tone. My photography is already improving thanks to the few hours I spent enjoying these videos and just getting out and practicing Alex's wisdom. - He captures the balance of planning and preparation and leaving yourself open to surprise, wonder, and challenges when things don't go just right. - He has recommendations on gear and travel and sales. I was impressed by how much material there was about photography outside of pushing the shutter button. - He shows skills how to edit after the fact. - There's just really cool scenes--the production value is pretty solid (and the summer one is good too) IG: @chetmancini
I just started watching the workshop videos and can't stop. I only take breaks to work on the subject in a particular video. Alex has a good video presence and the charisma to boot. The videos flow well and maintain the audience's (me) attention. I can't wait to get through all the videos and put everything that I am learning into action. Good Job.
First at all, I would like to congrats Alex for this amazing workshop ! You’ve got everything on it, specially if you want to live and feel new experiences deep inside your photography. I loved the gear and the photoshop editing part. Alex give us all his favorite tricks and shortcuts. I like to said it’s one of the last things I needed.. but in a different way, it’s pretty cool to know all the details about a real “modern” adventurer Btw, Alex put a additional extra with the Heli special part and that is really good to know If you want to live a unique experience, you are at the right place :) Thanks Alex ! IG: @yann__b | www.yannb.net
I can't say enough good things about this workshop, for Alex to share his tricks & tips he has gathered over the years is enough on it's own. Being new to photography it's great to have that one workshop that covers so much content in one place. I would love to see some more hands on tricks & tips with the camera in the field. The added bonus content along the way has been a nice additive & it's inspiring for Alex to challenge what you learn with some goals. Highly recommend this workshop to anyone of any ability. Gran trabajo Alex, Gracias @trizeoner www.jaimepulido.com

I have been taking photos for a while now and questioned whether this workshop would be worth purchasing. I finally made the decision and have been extremely satisfied. Being able to learn from someone with as much experience as Alex is invaluable. Watching him work in the field is worth the price alone. I’m very happy with this purchase. @mr.bwhit www.BrandonWhitleyPhoto.com
I bought this workshop in the hopes, that it would give me the tools I need to start really persuing photography. This was more than just lessons it was a confidence boost! This workshop really covers it all, from budgets to helicopter tours and he just keeps adding to it! I highly suggest this workshop to anyone, pro or just starting off. If you need knowledge, ideas or even a confidence boost id say give this a try. Have never got this much insight about the business side of photography ever, I talk to a lot of photographers and this has helped me so much. Thank you so much Alex! This workshop has been incredible! It goes through the ins and outs of running your own photography business, how to meet and talk with companies which was my biggest hurtle. It's helped me try and find my place in the business and really inspired me to just go out and shoot, even if im not feeling like it, jut go! Highly recommend this workshop to anyone who is interested especially for the price point you can't go wrong!
I ordered Alex' workshop at soon as it was announce. It is my very first online worksop. I remember seeing Alex' Instagram story post to introduce it I just ordered it without thinking because I knew it will be worth it. I watched the entire workshop in 4 days. I wanted to let it sit a while before writing a review. With that workshop, Alex tags us along on his photo journey from A to Z. What I love about it is the simplicity. It feels like a very long conversation between you and Alex. You gathered so many advices and techniques. I often go back to selected episodes of the workshop for inspiration. Just to hear him talk and do his thing makes you want to push yourself to the next level of your career. The other great thing is that Alex and his team constantly work on providing new content for the workshop (you can sometimes see behind of the scenes on his Insta stories) Alex is one of my favourite photographers out there and it is great to get some lessons from him. So yes totally worth it! Robin.
This workshop was excellent! No matter where you are at in your photography career, you will gain something from this workshop. Alex goes into great depth about the importance of planning and preproduction that is necessary in order to have a successful shoot. I really appreciated Alex's honesty about the business side of photography. Many photographers don't like to talk about their business strategies, but Alex had no problem sharing information that will help you better interact with clients. Overall this workshop was great, it is definitely worth the investment for anyone interested in learning how to tell their story better and pass those ideas onto clients! @chrismeugniot www.chrismeugniot.com
I follow Alex for a long time and when I saw he was doing a workshop, I immediately bought it in pre-order, I knew it was going to be great. No disappointment at all. The workshop is just amazing and so helpful when you want to start into the wild world of photography. Watching this just reassure you and push you to go out and create your own work. I feel way more confident now and want to push myself more than ever! Thanks a lot, Alex! Merci beaucoup!! ;) Lucie @luciechpt
After trying to turn my love for photography into a career for the past three years I hit a dead end, finding the creative inspiration to take new pictures while tackling the business side of photography overwhelmed me to the point that I felt like giving up but after watching Alex's amazing workshop it's given me a new outlook to photography with every small detail from planning trips using traditional maps to taking a break while editing a picture to get a fresh view of it, there's so many incredible things in this workshop that it's brought back the fun of trying new ways to approach editing and trying new and different ways to compose a shot and that's honestly the best thing that could've happened to me after hitting a dead end. This workshop is seriously the best investment you could make for your photography and i'm so happy i got it, i can't wait to finish watching the new summer workshop! if you're interested in seeing how I improved my photography from Alex's workshop my Instagram is @sascha_tay
Great for individuals who want to learn and equally great for those who are seasoned and want to continue enhancing their skills! I've been working in television and ads and branding for over 10 years, and its very important to never think that you've got it all figured it and should continue to evolve and learn from others. Alex's techniques reinforced and also helped restore mentalities that I've already had. And I've definitely learned a lot more as well. It's very conversational and easy and fun to watch and makes you super pumped about getting out there and shooting! Oh and I would also say the skills are very transferable, it doesn't just have to be photography! insta @pete_ohara Happy shooting
I hesitated for a long time to buy this workshop and one day I decided to take it after seeing a story on instagram. It was one of the best purchases I ever made. I thought I knew a lot about photography and this workshop allowed me to learn the basics again. Alex Strohl inspires me enormously in his way of thinking, taking his pictures and editing. In this workshop, we have the impression that it is a friend who speaks to you and it is very pleasant. The videos are very well made and the content is worth all the gold in the world. After finishing all the videos, I decided to take back in hand my edits, apply his advice of compositions and his way of approaching his photos. To summarize, this workshop is great and I think that any photographer who wants to continue to advance in his passion should listen to Alex Strohl's words. Thank you again for the work provided. Thomas Luisier IG : @thomas.luisier | www.thomas-luisier.ch
I'm an amateur photographer and this workshop was extremely beneficial for me. As a student, I was a little bit scared to spend that amount of money but I can tell you it worth every penny and more. Everything is well vulgarized without being too simple. Alex's way of thinking motivated me a lot. Thank You! Merci Alex! I do not perhaps fit the typical profile of Alex's followers ... As a mother of two, my travel adventures are on hold for obvious reasons, although as a family, we love to get out and explore. To be honest, I can't say why I chose Alex's workshop from the many other online workshops available. It must have been instinct ... in any case, I certainly wasn't disappointed! I feel like I have just completed a week's work experience with a talented, energetic and successful photographer ... and what an enjoyable and enlightening experience it was! Alex has made me think differently about how I take photographs and how I edit them. He also provides very pragmatic advice which has helped me find more direction and structure in my work, as well as fuelling new ideas for future projects. I have some way to go before getting to a professional level, but this course has given me the motivation and inspiration to keep working at it. Many thanks Alex! www.emmakatebuchanan.com @emmakatebuchanan

I've been a fan of Alex's for some time now. I even have his book Alternative Living sitting on my living room coffee table. That's why when this workshop came out last fall it was a no-brainer for me. Why not learn from someone you admire? Admittedly, I thought I was purchasing a "how to take awesome pictures" workshop. I'm so glad that it's soo much more than that. Sure, you learn how to create memorable imagery and some technical aspects of shooting and his gear. But the best part, in my opinion, is that each module goes into some of the 'intangible' aspects of being an adventure photographer. In Module 1, for example, Alex describes how blue hour is his favorite time to shoot and why, how to evoke emotion in your imagery, and even how to stay motivated after encountering an unforeseen obstacle. In Module 2, he goes into his workflow. Here you get to see how a professional truly works. Finally, in Module 3, most of the time is spent on the business behind the imagery - working with clients, when to say no, finding a right fit, etc. As a bonus, Alex frequently adds new content to the workshop. Just today, he added a new module on how to shoot aerial photography! I wholeheartedly recommend this workshop if you're serious about improving your craft and thinking about entering the business. It will show you a side you would never have encountered otherwise. Thank you so much Alex. IG @natepapa // www.natepapa.com
Hey Alex, i loved your content and the info I think is really helpful but i gotta tell ya, the production is really amateur, with a lot of errors (things like a white balance mismatch in the two recording cameras; in a chapter you appear in the couch with daylight then is night and then is day again, wtf? like "i forgot to say this, lets put it at the end ) i believe there is a lot to improve in the making and also in the post production/editing I will definitely buy again this workshop because the content is 5 stars, but the production/post is a 1-2 stars. I hope this can help, love your work. https://instagram.com/ivanjalife/
I really enjoyed working through this workshop. Alex’s videos are super informative while being very entertaining at the same time. They really inspire me to get out and shoot, and the videos about the business side contain info I haven’t been able to find elsewhere. Plus the behind-the-scenes info is really great for letting you see “behind the curtain” of how a pro photographer works. I would highly recommended this workshop to anyone interested in adventure photography. Thanks Alex! IG: @andygoesplaces
I was looking to explore away from action photography and searching for new motivation. Alex inspired me to broaden my subject matter and style. His editing tips and on scene explanations helped me get outside my self imposed box. I'm excited to keep exploring using a new 24/1.4 while shooting well into blue hour. Thanks Alex for keeping my photography fresh! @as.pavkovich www.anthonypavkovich.com
I couldnt reccommend Alex’s workshop enough, i enjoyed every minute and learnt way more then i thought i would. If you want to kick start your photography career or just get some new skills for your hobby, this workshop is for you! - @bradwilletts @lifeandland
Bottom line up front: This course lets you inside the mind do one of the worlds leading photographers and will significantly improve your work if you follow his guidance. It worked for me =] From idea to edit, Alex gives some incredibly useful tips that I hadn’t heard on any you tube video, seminar etc I had to save up for this course for months and worried about buying it due to personal circumstances - it’s worth every penny
I've learned so much about both the photography process as well as the adventuring process. But i think most of all it really breathed new life into me. It made me want to get out and find new places, stop making excuses and just get in the car and drive. I can't wait to do more work and i look forward to hopefully crossing paths with Alex in my travels! @JRKingdon www.JRKingdon.com
Congrats on the workshop Alex! It was learnfull, interesting and refreshing to watch. It's cool to see the shooting and workflow and even getting the presets. If you love travelling and photography and want to be able to up your game I sure recommend this workshop. Or even if you just wanna learn and experience some cool tutorials. Go for it! Thank Alex, the additional footage with the heli was a cool surplus! IG - @vally182 website: www.recklessphotography.be
Alex goes into DEPTH on all subjects within adventure photography. But there is still a sense that the student must get out and try these things for herself to really understand the craft. I like how Alex encourages the student to develop their own style, and to get away from using other people's presets when shooting and editing. Nonetheless, Alex shows how he does ALL of these things including how he handles the business side of things. I felt like I got a lot of out it and more perhaps more importantly, this workshop made me want to hustle more! @tmonda timothymonda.com
Alex is not just a good photographer but also a great story teller and amazing teacher. He is really capable to change and improve your approach to outdoor photography. Thank you for putting together this project. Looking forward to see more. Greetings from Italy Filippo @filippomaffei
I always liked photography. But before it was just a spectator.. When I found Alex's profile on Instagram I started to get day after day after day more involved in his works. Simply mind-blowing. It wasn't something on the big first pages of The National Geographic or Conde Nast, it was just the instagram page of such a talented guy. His daily update now comes as a routine and that picture helps in dreaming about places and techniques, about colors and travels. Now, if you such inspired by a person the only thing you can ask yourself is "How can I move closer to photography and having the same approach? How can I convey way more than just a picture with a single shot". Well, when I heard about the worksop I haven't thought twice in getting it because all the time I was begging for one more video, for one more post and this chance was 5 hours of Alex talking about his passion, and the passion of all of his community and all of this in a really simple and super understandable way, no matter if you are a beginner or a pro. Thanks Alex for pushing people towards something they like, taking a bit of their daily routine and investing it in photography. 5 stars more than deserved!
Alex not only teach about photography, but he teach about business, works flows, little tricks, and a lot of others values things. This workshop its really really amazing. I feel so grateful and I'm waiting his next Workshop. Thanks for share your knowledge with us, and just keep doing. I don't have any negative comments about this. Everything was so complete and value for me. Thanks Alex! Ig: @guzmanbarquin Guzmán
Although it is not the answer to blooming success, it’s still extremely valuable. No matter what stage in photogrsphy you’re at, you will learn something from this. Each module is well done, and Alex doesn’t really skip over much. You just need to remember - these methods are what works for him, and the same things don’t slways work for everybody. Still, an amazing course and definitely worth the buy. @mike.wake Www.mikewakephotos.com

I bought this with some curiosity, but I'm glad I did! It certainly gave me personally a lot of extra useful information I would have never have thought of in terms of the inside business as well as some nifty edit tricks I had never thought of before. If you're interested in the industry, then this is a great workshop to get! Alex has built himself up, and is being an open book by passing on all this useful information. Thanks Alex!
What a great workshop. I've spent a couple grand on workshops over the last year and this one is my favorite. You really feel the heart and soul Alex put into this by the open and willing way he shares the very knowledge that took him to the top of his craft. I felt like a friend that Alex invited over for a great cup of coffee and we sat down and talked shop. He weaves a wonderful story of creativity, of finding your inner story and how to create habits that keep that story at the forefront of your body of work. The way it's filmed and produced comes across genuine and unfiltered, much like Alex's images. He also goes into some very relevant areas that couldn't find in other workshops, such as tips and tricks on Instagram and how to find your core audience. Thanks Alex for a wonderful workshop. Hope we cross paths soon my friend. Jeremy Selg Instagram @j.Robert.Selg
Alex gives his insight on his many years of knowledge in photography. He tells you what has worked for him and gives you some ideas how to create your own style and find your own way. I feel a new burst of motivation after watching his workshop, thank you Alex! @alexanderxdangelo
This is the first workshop that I have ever purchased, and it is definitely worth every penny! From gear to editing to brand building, Alex shares his knowledge and experiences that led him to where he is today. I particularly enjoyed the chapters on conveying emotion and telling a story through photography, as it helped me think more about what I'm trying to capture in the photograph, instead of just snapping away at random objects. It's a very strange feeling when you discover the entire experience of another photographer. Alex shares his experience and does not hide anything. He is honest, simple and understandable. He motivates and gives important advices that makes a difference in my creative work. Thank you a lot.
Alex did a phenomenal job with this workshop. This course fits, in my opinion, for a little-advanced beginner as for aspiring professionals in equal ways. Everyone in the audience will pick other takeouts, as there are a wide variety of covered topics. The workshop is well divided and walks you thru every job you need to do as a photographer, regardless of your level. Alex not only talks about his way of taking that specific image. He talks about the how. The planning, the realization, the retouching and the selling. Alex takes you on an amazing photo journey and you feel as if a good friend would teach you all about photography. Thank you! @alexander.schuetz
As someone who makes a living teaching other photographers through workshops, I found this workshop to be very helpful for the serious intermediate or advanced photographer looking to improve the creative side of their work. Creativity and storytelling isn’t easy to teach, but Alex does a great job at expressing his thought process. It’s a no-nonsense way of teaching, and the video format adds a personal touch that isn’t found much online. Thanks! @trentsizemore www.trentsizemore.com
I've been a big fan of Alex for a long time now, so when my wife got me this workshop for the holidays I was pretty thrilled. No matter what level of photographer you are, there is something of value here for you. I've been working on trying to hone my style for a long time, and even just simply being able to "shadow" someone of Alex's skill throughout their process literally helped me become better overnight. Definitely recommended. @proud2bawesome
Alex's workshop is phenomenal. The insight and expertise he brings to each subject is both useful and inspiring. I love how he not only gives information but also encourages you to get out there and apply this info to your own work and life. I always appreciate when experienced and talented creators share their knowledge and this workshop does just that. Definitely worth the price and I would absolutely recommend this to anyone looking to grow as a photographer or as an artist. IG @_bengriggs
This workshop has been my savior. Hearing his thought processes on constructing images from the ground up has given me so much more perspective on my own workflow and I'm super happy with the images I've been making lately. Great advice on the business side of photography as well! Norman Rockwell - @normanfrockwell
I bought Alex's Adventure Photography Workshop specifically for Module 3 which covers the business aspects of being a professional photographer. Alex's workshop is a breath of fresh air as he gives us not only practical advice in each module, content we can put into action ourselves, but he also discusses topics I feel so many photographers shy away from, like how to price you work, how to engage potential clients, etc. And while some questions do not have black and white answers, Alex gives us tips and guidance on how to go about photography and the business of photography in practical steps that allow for growth regardless of how seasoned a photographer might be. I enjoyed all three modules and found them all informative and helpful, and appreciated his outlook on camera gear as tools, developing your own unique style, and how to engage and pitch desired clients. If you're on the fence, as to wether or not you should purchase the Adventure Photography Workshop, consider this a push onto the side that says, Yes. Cheers, Ira @irajacobak irajacob.com
Simply put, this workshop was worth every penny of the cost and a lot more. My passion has always been painting, but recently I decided to start photographing the nature I love to paint. This workshop delved into so many aspects of the process of creating all kinds of art! The wisdom, tips, insight and inspiration Alex shares are invaluable. If there’s one piece of advice I could give anyone remotely interested in photography as a hobby or career, please take this course—I promise you won’t regret it. Thank you Alex!! For Alex to give us an insight to his mindset and creative success is truly awesome! His level of knowledge from picking out the clothing to match the scene to nailing the shot is awesome! I highly recommend this workshop to increase your knowledge. I would recommend this from starters to even professionals! Great work Alex!
After completing Alex's workshop, I feel as though I have walked away with more confidence and knowledge on photography. Alex has poured his heart and soul into the making of this workshop and it really shows. I loved learning about his creative process, editing workflow, and the topic of acquiring clients. I highly recommend this workshop to anyone who is looking to take their photography to the next level! IG: @mianguyen Website: mia-nguyen.com
This workshop touches the bases of becoming a successful photographer. I think most people with some photography experience can find some interesting stuff in his material. For me the part of the workflow and how to store your files. The rest I've seen on youtube by other photographers already and it's easy to get that information for free. There are hundreds of good bloggers out there so if you want to learn the skill of photography I wouldn't go for this workshop. But If you want to "make it" in the industry there are tons of helpful information in there for you. Also quite interesting to see the man behind the photos I think I would give it a higher rating if it was a lot more interesting content but I found it to be quite expensive for what I got. I used the "xmastrohl" discount so I even had $100 off the price.
Having never purchased any sort of online workshops for photography before I can admit I was a bit hesitant. I can assure you this workshop Alex put together gives you great insight on what new generation photographers have to (or may help) do in order to generate a healthy business for yourself. It has given me some great ideas and ways to approach companies so that I can take myself (and business) to the next level. I also like how Alex doesn't try and sell you "the golden key" to everything that will make you a famous photographer. He simply nudges YOU to do it yourself. Which in the end I think creates a more self driven photographer which will help you create business. To sum it up, Alex shows passion for what he does and shows it shows in this workshop. I would recommend to everyone to give it a shot. Thanks Alex, Chris - @iheartmychris
This is no "get famous quick" or "pick up a camera and shoot for Nat Geo" type of workshop. This is filled with ground truths, solid advice based on real experiences, and some how to's just to get the ball rolling. I thoroughly enjoyed this workshop and devoured it like a good book. I have already started implementing some of the information learned here into my photography and business as a whole. Thanks Alex! IG: @five_day_photo
When I purchased this workshop, I had no idea what I was in for. It’s the most helpful tool I’ve come across in my two years of photography. Within weeks of watching the workshop I have used Alex’s tips and tricks to land my self 2 jobs in which I would have not even dreamed of a month ago and I’m 15yrs old. He helped me improve on my editing style while staying original and showed how he plans to shoot location and to create schedules to get shit done and stop procrastinating. Honestly can’t recommend this workshop enough,, Thanks Alex, Jed - @jztx
So far I’m through module 1, loving the content and has already made me get out an shoot more. Really pleased with the way Alex explains things on the videos, looking forward to moving onto the next module. Thank you! IG @hughbullen
I've been following Alex on Instagram since 2015. I'm always inspired by his work and how he puts the passion to grow his art, so I couldn't miss the change to get thisworkshop. From the very beginning, the workshop stands out from all the other lessons I've watched. It really makes you feel comfortable and determined that you're gonna get something from this effort. More importantly, Alex has his own way of explaining things neatly and targeted, so you cannot be mislead. One of the most valuable things I've learned from Alex's workshop, is that you should't follow what is viral, but you have to seek, create inspirations and do something that ignites your passion for photography. I would certainly look forward to see a workshop about planning hiking and photography (necessary gear, tips etc). www.constantinethemelis.com
Alex's workshop is remarkable! The knowledge that he shares is perfect and invaluable to people like me who are trying to make a start in the industry. Every module there is something useful and something you can carry with you, despite what photography you like to take its for everyone pro, amateur. I'm constantly inspired by Alex's work and this workshop was worth every penny. Alex teaches you how to develop your own way of approaching your photography. @samueldweston
As the title implies, I originally pre-ordered this workshop because I loved the editing style of Alex and wanted to know how he approached each photo, what tips and tricks he had when going into Lightroom etc. But what I actually appreciated most and what makes this Workshop worth it is actually the business mindset that Alex shares with you. If you're buying this to learn some new tricks for editing your photos, you will not be disappointed. You will get just that and much much more from the other modules and lessons provided. In my opinion, you can watch a youtube video and learn from that creator some neat shortcuts on how to save yourself time in editing or how to improve your skill in some area. But what you're getting from Alex is a ton of saved time and pain from failing to communicate your position and ideas to brands. You're saving yourself the regret of getting burned time after time while you learn little by little what works with communicating with brands and what doesn't. That's the true value of this Workshop, learning from Alex's years of experience in branding and propelling yourself past all those rookie mistakes so that you can hit the ground running. I signed up for the editing and was not disappointed, I was stunned at the knowledge Alex was willing to share in his pre-production, post-production, and business experience. If you found this review helpful, then you're in for a big surprise when you see how helpful Alex is. - Cortland / @landofcort
So GRATEFUL for this workshop!! For the past 6 months I've been freelancing and trying to navigate the Do's and Don'ts of the industry. Alex covers all the bases, from the Field and working with Clients to the nuances of running your own Business. He touches on the importance of storytelling, and how to create more meaningful imagery. Alex offers a ton of advice on how to get a foot in the door with whatever client you aim to work with. And he preaches about the significance of managing your time and budget effectively. Alex has been instrumental to a lot of the goals I've managed to accomplish so far in my career. He offers so much information that extends much farther than the entry level advice most people give. It's by far the most informative and in depth workshop I have ever seen. He not only challenges you to create meaningful imagery, but prods you to take action immediately and chase after your ambitions and goals. Don't waste any time debating. This workshop is a tool every photographer can learn from and apply in their own career!! Instagram: @yoriles www.yoriles.com
When it comes to workshops I'm usually skeptical. Many workshops out there don't go into enough details or they target a beginner level photographer. This workshop from Alex is the exact opposite. Not only it addresses any skill level but it also gets deep into his workflow. I particularly enjoyed his approach to business, that gave me a lot of motivation to make the jump into a new career. I already recommended this workshop to few friends ;) IG: @coc6
I've been a fan of Alex's work for some time now, so when I heard he was putting together a photography workshop, I got really excited. I immediately purchased it, and was not disappointed. Each video is both extremely thorough and enjoyable to watch, and Alex gives out many tips and secrets that I know will help me in my photography and travels. I'm only halfway through the workshop, and I've already learned so much. It's immensely helpful to have a professional photographer teach photography based on his experience; it feels more tangible than reading some article online. Videos like that on working with models and masking taught me many things I knew little about, and got me excited to go out, shoot, and reach out to potential clients in a more informed way. Thanks Alex and the crew for putting together this incredible workshop! Highly recommend it. Marin. Insta: @marinstf website: www.marinstefaniphotography.com
My girlfriend pre-ordered this workshop for me and I'm glad she did it. I learned a lot and it changed my perspective to look on some of the things in photography. I always liked Alex's work and his attitude. I'm happy to see how he shoots, process and delivers his work. Definitely learned some key points from this workshop about editing and I can see my work improve after studied this workshop. If you debating getting this workshop, you should get it now! You're going to learn a lot and going to see your work improve in a short time. I like the way Alex explained things also he did a different module for different subjects, which gives you to pick and choose what you want to study. Having module's in this workshop is a super genius and useful. When I need to go back and look at something I missed, I can just go to the specific episode and watch. This saved me time and frustration. Thank you, Alex, for sharing your experiences and inspiring us. Oguzhan (Ossan) Bal @karibbou
As an amateur photographer for a few years I've been going through various tutorials regarding photography to become better, and I do have to say that Alex provides a whole lot of practical information in right-sized chunks. His tips regarding composition and improvising make for some stronger photographs, and just getting out there with a few friends is certainly a lot of value. Highly recommended! @eddokloosterman www.eddokloosterman.com
As an amateur photographer, I have always been on the edge as to wether or not photography was a profession I wanted to pursue. I decided to take Alex's workshop, not fully knowing what to expect, but wanted to gain some understanding of photography. I gained much more knowledge then I had ever thought I would. This workshop covers, from beginning to end, the intricate details of a photographer's life, and it helped inspire me to continue pursuing photography. I would highly suggest taking this workshop, as it has helped me immensely, and if anyone is on the border of purchasing the workshop; it is a no brainer not to take it. I had always wondered how Alex's photos had always had the same tone in every photo. He answers this in his workshop, and I am now trying to incorporate that aspect into my own photography. It is important to remain true to yourself in your work and Alex helped me see that! Thank you, Alex, for giving others the opportunity to look into your life for inspiration. Instagram: aedanarnot
This is the most valuable and honest workshop I have ever partaken in. Alex gives an incredibly open approach to how he plans, processes and delivers his photographs, covering everything from pre-shoot planning and gear to deliverables and clientele. I am thoroughly impressed by the depth that this workshop reached, and with the open and down to earth nature of Alex's instruction and advice. I am more than grateful for the ability to engage in something like this, and have left very much inspired to venture onward.
Alex Strohl was one of the very first photographers I followed when I picked up photography. His unique style set him apart from the rest. When I heard he came out with his workshop I knew I had to get it so that I could learn & understand the experiences which make Alex so inspirational. Alex Strohl goes through everything in-depth. As to how he gains inspiration, gets out of a creative block, to showing the images & angles he achieves when telling his story. And so much more! Honestly love this workshop and would recommend it to anyone who wants to learn no matter what stage in life! @christopherhales

This workshop is well worth the money you pay for it and 10x over. When I heard that Alex was putting out a workshop I got really excited, as a photographer that I look up to and inspires me with his images I knew it was going to be worth every penny. Pleased to say I was not disappointed, the valuable lessons Alex conveys would take you years to figure out. From being conscious about what and how your shooting to simple things like managing a freelance budget, these are the lessons you want in life. I guareentee you will gain a lot from this workshop as I did. Thank you Alex! Cale.
I knew Alex from Instagram I'am following him for about 2 years. I love his pictures. When I saw that he will publish a workshop I said myself I have to look it. You can learn so much from a great photographer. Before I watched the workshop I also looked photography tutorials on youtube. So I knew a few thinks about photography. But although I learned a lot from this workshop, that I didn't know yet. I inspired me to shoot more and give me ideas. The workshop shows you how to get the last bit of beauty out of you picture in post production. And even how to edit you pictures. In Modul 3 Alex gives you tips and tricks to get clients and how to get noticed. It is really profitable to buy the workshop. You learn so much. @quentinburbach
Alex’s course provides inspiration, insight, detail and big picture business ideas. I work full time as a portrait and wedding photographer, and I still found this workshop instructive and refreshing. It’s well organized and clearly made with care. I would highly recommend it! I'll be watching all three modules multiple times. There's far too much good information, practical and artistic, to soak in on just one viewing. So glad I purchased this workshop. Alex's engaging presentation is thorough and easy to follow, even for a newbie photographer like me. I was astounded by what can be achieved post processing. As a former college art major turned professional novelist (who has been missing the visual arts), I saw artistic doors flying wide in front of me; very cool. Thanks Alex & team for putting this together! Lori @lorilbenton
It's a very rare opportunity to sit down with someone who's work inspires you. That's what this workshop feels like - a casual chat between Alex and yourself. From the production value to the additional materials, the value of this workshop really shines through. I especially enjoyed seeing his creative process when editing images. I picked up a bunch of tips that I used to build my own presets. Most importantly, the setting of the workshop highlights the natural beauty of Montana. I'll be making a trip there soon. -Zach @zachwanders
Got this workshop on preorder and did not regret it at any point. It's a great workshop, talking a lot of all the behind the scenes stuff, but my favourite parts were those on the business side of things. Never before have I heard anyone talk so openly about the fact that you should think about savings and how to approach clients. It's a fantastic workshop, definitely worth the time. Thank you Alex and team for explaining so much on the ins and outs of photography! Best Simon @simonmigaj
I wish I had this 5 years ago. I love how this workshop develops and how it touches each topic, from the use of the camera to the deal with brands (I was so interested in this part). Although it was difficult for me, I bought it. It is the only workshop that I have bought and for me it has been worth it. In this whorkshop, in addition to teaching you the methods that he uses, he also try to motivate us to do what we like, no matter how difficult it may be. Thanks Alex. @apllop website: alejandrollop.com
I feel fairly comfortable using my camera, but I know there’s always room to improve. I was curious if this would actually improve my skills, or simply inspire me because I love Alex’s work. It did both. I notice when I’m shooting that I’m much more focused than ever on telling a story, rather than simply taking a photo. I’m documenting my life, travels, and adventures more often and in a more genuine way and I attribute that entirely to how inspiring and insightful I found this workshop to be. To look View some of my work, check me out on Instagram @tylerj.williams Thank you so much for putting so much work into this workshop, Alex! I can’t even explain how useful it’s been.
I usually get bored in classrooms or any learning situation where the tutor is talking "at" me. This was definitely not the case with Alex. This is a great workshop! Alex's style is conversational and genuine. And the substance he covers, I believe, would be helpful to all those venturing into photography - as a career, or a passion pursuit. There are so many directions you could take your photography into - freelance photographer, documentary, working with brands, creative arts... While not explicitly categorized as such, there is something to be taken from this workshop for each of these lines. And understanding some of these aspects may help you figure out the direction that might be best for you. It's something I'm struggling with. I don't have all the answers yet, but the knowledge from this workshop brings me just a little bit closer :) Oh, and my favourite was the bonus module 4. I am always curious to know the backstory of a photo. Alex does a brilliant job of describing his favourite photos and beautifully summarizes the key takeaways from each - which are helpful lessons to always keep in mind. Thanks Alex! IG: @ashwinigupte
I like to think that I am a pretty good photographer. Alex, like any good mentor, has shown me things that I didn't even consider. The workshop is valuable in highlights the often overlooked aspects of photography. The little things in these workshops add up to a much bigger and grander picture. I would recommend this workshop for anybody that is looking to transition from an amatuer or hobbiest photographer to a professional as the tips in here set you up to be a solid creative director.
The best part about this workshop is Alex's delivery. He conveys his tips, thoughts, and workflow in an incredibly honest way, that makes you (the aspiring photographer) realize that great photography is not about technical perfection; there is no precise formula or preset for powerful images. Case in point: watching Alex meticulously edit photos for a good amount of time, only to have him scrap the whole process after realizing he didn't like the end result was refreshing, relatable, and SO REAL. (He is human, after all!). For me, this workshop has inspired me to be more creative, try new things (angles, subjects, times of day, settings, locations, etc.) and not be afraid to learn while making mistakes along the way. Bottom line - If you're looking to be inspired, and learn from a professional photographer in a way that doesn't feel gimmicky or contrived, this workshop is for you. Cheers for the effort, Alex --- Instagram: @alexisoutside
I’ve always admired Alex’s work and jumped at the opportunity to do this workshop. I love his approach to photography. The workshop does a great job of laying out every important part of being a photographer, no matter your skill level. It’s easy to be inspired by his work but his workshop will give you an even greater appreciation for the work he puts into his photos. I highly recommend this workshop to anyone looking to improve their skills! Andy @andrewiramorris
I came into this review as someone with a background in post production compositing and color grading. So photography has been something I've done in recent years to just stay sharp. I bought this workshop just to push myself a little further and see how a professional approaches his work. It certainly helped in that regard. I think my biggest take away is you've gotta be in the right place at the right time. If you're out there shooting day in and day out you're more likely to get those amazing shots. It's no secret, just the reality of photography. Be patient, take trips, planning is key. It's a numbers game, so just keep grinding away at it and you'll see results. Cheers, @somethingmundane somethingmundane.com
Congratulations for this Workshop Alex, you did a wonderful job explaining every aspect of your workshop. I started as a freelance photographer for two years now and I always ask questions about my work, and all the answers are in this workshop, all the modules go into the details of the different aspects of this photography life (Especially the third one). I think it's very important to hear people who have a lot of experience in the field to be able to do the same and succeed as well, so do not hesitate and dive into the Alex's universe. If you follow every step of this workshop, you will be a modern adventurer for sure and you will live a unique experience. Thank you Alex ! @iamquentinorain
