Introspective and Knowledgable

This was my first workshop I have done and I have to say I'm very satisfied. Alex is able to connect his own life experience to the aspiring adventurist/photographer. Highly recommend!

The best online photography workshop

The Wildist workshops have taught me so much and for a price so low that I don't think I can find anything that compete. This workshop is no exception, the value you get from it is priceless! I'm really proud to be part of this community.

Why Pay Someone Half My Age For Advice?

I may be much older than Alex Strohl but this young man imparts great wisdom. He's accomplished and grounded, and his easy way in front of the camera is as inspiring as his work behind one.

This workshop is at the same time brightly illuminating the path and warmly encouraging and reassuring that everything you dreamt or wanted to do is there for you to grasp. It is irrelevant if you are a professional or newbies like myself, Alex helps to build the foundations for a fulfilling life whether this will be in photography or in anything else!

Terrific Introspective Course

I recommend this course if you're looking for more the existential, philosophical, therapeutic side of things. It definitely lives up to it's title of: how to find fulfillment in your life long craft of photography.

Phenomenal guide to find YOUR reasons to be better

This might be my favorite workshop from Alex. He shares amazing insights and provides frameworks to help you understand the why behind what you do, and plenty of valuable advice into how you can improve or find your own motivations. Loved this one.

Fantastic workshop that makes you look within

This is a completely different and wonderful workshop that Alex has brought. He is an amazing teacher and really teaches you how to frame your mindset and understand yourself more. I have been doing photography for quite a while but I'm also a nurse. Along with being in the medical field, I have just started a family, so figuring out my own structure and priorities during a time of so many changes has been quite difficult. Alex has shown again how to look deep into yourself and your routines and how to develop yourself into being better and more efficient with your time but also allowing for ways to continue being creative. Wonderful workshop and just what I needed!

A helpful combination of mindful and technical

I loved all aspects of the lessons Alex taught in this workshop! They were well thought out, specific, and easy to follow. Each category had numbered lists of steps, followed by more specific descriptions of them. The lesson about the art of negotiation, as well as the one out in the field with his dad were both full of really helpful first hand knowledge. (Also, side note: loved how his dad did NOT care about the production hahaha. Just a man about his business. A perfect example of someone you document and direct when you can!) The only reason I didn't give this five stars was because of the uncut interview episode with another photographer about how to find motivation. It was the longest episode, but there wasn't a lot of content there, and the video was really drawn out considering how much was actually being said. Maybe if the person being interviewed had been given an idea of the questions before hand, or if all the dead space had been edited out in-between, it would have felt like a little bit less of a filler? That being said, I really enjoyed this course overall and got a lot out of it! Well priced, and I would definitely buy again.

I have just wanted to learn something new, but was blown away.

This was exactly the stuff I needed to watch. Alex goes a level deeper into the so-hot topics these current days, for many photographers. It just felt very personal, still Alex's style, yet different from Adventure Pro, maybe given the connection to his home environment in France. I have recently watched another top adventure photographer's workshop, only to hear what layers to wear and how not to forget to take water. Alex will tell you how he plans his days, how he negotiates the prices and how not to compare yourself to other competition. The last one resonates with me a lot and it went so far that I had to stop watching Instagram for a while. I will watch it again, this time with my journal handy. Thank you, truly, well done.

So grateful for this workshop!

Coming in the midst of a pandemic when so many of us are experiencing burnout or lack of inspiration, this workshop couldn't come at a more perfect time. Alex's calm and encouraging presence really comes through in this workshop, as they do in all of his workshops, but this one you could definitely feel was even more personal. Thank you, Alex, for sharing your words and your work with us. 🙏🏻

Personable

Learning from Alex while he sits in his living room with the fire cracking, or while he wanders his home town feels personable and unedited. There are many photography workshops on technique, equipment, lighting, posing, etc., but to gain insight into the values, routines, and goals of a passionate and successful photographer is an important, often hidden, lens. Alex seems real and relatable, and I really appreciated the business, creative, photography and life lessons I gained from this course.

An inspiring workshop

Alex Strohl is an inspiring instructor. In this workshop, he unveils his roots, habits, routines, and ways of working (on the spot, behind his desk, and with clients). He highlights that a professional photography practice isn't only about photographing but also admin. Which shouldn't be a problem to keep a certain level of creativity thanks to Alex's guidance on balancing your life. Speaking with authenticity, he shows himself in places he belongs to. This brings a true added value to the workshop. Exposing his own story, Alex enables other photographers to think about their personal creative path.

Approached With Care

An open and almost vulnerable accounting of Alex’s thought and work processes, their ongoing development, and how he continues to cultivate his evolution as a photographer. There is a lot to learn here.
